TRUE STORY ALERT. This one hits home as it is about as serial killer that terrorized the Bay Area over the course of a decade during the 70’s.
Jake Gyllenhall plays the main character who happens to work at the San Francisco times as a cartoonist. But he cannot help himself get sucked into the mystery of this killer. The killer sends letters to the newspaper and calls in and almost taunts them as he continues to claim kills and bodies do keep coming up. He becomes obsessed with the case as he overhears every day the talk in the office from the lead journalists. He is a smart guy and almost forces himself into the case with his obsession in solving it.
The story of this real life murder mystery is really good but in my opinion it is just a tad long. So I personally got bored though parts. But great acting as usual by Jake and Robert Downey Jr. makes a great appearance as well.
The is a REALLY GOOD MOVIE. Worth watching it just to know the story of one of the most infamous serial killers in American history. That is a review.
