Maybe this is a bit high. MAYBE. BUT AGAIN. WHEEL HOUSE. 1. True story 2. Humanitarian Drama 3. History. I mean it’s going to be an EXCELLENT FUCKING FILM every time at least when you give those. I really enjoy these type of films.
Soooo from last review, we know the USA after 9/11 made so many horrific decisions. One of them, if not the WORST, was GITMO. Guantanamo Bay. I encourage people to do their own homework on GITMO and specifically, the tactics used on these people and THEN how man of the 887 people that spent time their were actually not even involved in any way to 9/11. SPOILER. IT IS ALOT.
This is one the stories. A man from the country of Mauritian gets taken from his home one night, under suspicion of being the orchestrator of the 9/11 hijackings. Spoiler Alert : HE IS NOT. Not even close. Does the USA care? NOPE.
He spends 16 YEARS in GITMO enduring what we later find out some of the most heinous torturing of prisoners in world history. All based on zero evidence and with out a single crime they could pin on any of these folks. For the main character here, he unfortunately met the wrong person one time and it completely changed the course of his life. This is is story.
It is powerful, it will make you sad as fuck, mad as fuck, emotional. Jodie Foster is an absolute force in this film and the rest of the car was well. A truly remarkably SHITTY story that everyone needs to see and know. That is a review.
