Welcome! I hope you enjoy reading my reviews as much as I enjoy writing them!

My name is Matthew. I watch A LOT of movies. Come here for movie recommendations and or to see if you feel the same way about a movie as me. My self created movie review system is simple. 7 categories for a movie. 1. How was the storytelling ? 2. Was it thought provoking? 3. Did it make you FEEL something? 4. How was the acting? 5. How were the visuals? 6. Was it interesting? 7. What was the overall enjoyment. Each category I score 1 through 10, I add total and divide it by the amount of categories (7) and BOOM, there is a score. Good system, from a person who is not a snobby movie reviewer, just an average guy who LOVES to watch movies. Now, once I have a number, it has to fall into a category.

Here are the 5 places a movie will land. A score between 9-10: OUTSTANDING MASTERPIECE drop what you are doing and go watch this movie right now, an absolute legendary film. 8-9: EXCELLENT FUCKING MOVIE requires a watch ASAP. 7-8: REALLY GOOD MOVIE add this to your list immediately. 6-7: SOLID FILM it did its job of entertaining you and you are not walking away disappointed. BELOW A 6: THIS MOVIE STINKS. Tell someone you hate its good and to watch it.

As I do these reviews I have come to a conclusion. There is a very definitive case for Christian Bale being the best actor of our generation. And it just hit. It is always Leo or Denzel or I dunno, Tom Hanks. You never hear Christian Bale. I think I am telling you right now,…

    KNOCK AT THE CABIN: 5.2

Who the hell keeps giving M Night Shamalam money to make movies? Who keeps telling him his movies are good? Where does he get the confidence to keep putting out movies? I am so confused by him. He is the worst director of our generation. Yet here he is, in 2023 still churning out shit…

  • THE IRISHMAN: 3.7

    THE IRISHMAN: 3.7

Please see my review on Inception when we discuss this movie. I want to repeat from that review: THIS IS A SAFE PLACE. A PLACE OF HONESTY. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO PRETEND HERE. Ok good now that we got that out of the way, and we are comfortable and safe. THIS MOVIE BLOWWWWWWS. I…

    THE DROP: 6.7

HIDDEN GEM SOLID MOVIE ALERT. Tom Hardy (who never loses) plays a bartender in Brooklyn. A lot of mobsters are hanging and do business out of this bar. He is not the owner of the bar. He just keeps his head down and minds his business. Until one night he has to get involved. James…

  • THE SOCIAL NETWORK: 9

    THE SOCIAL NETWORK: 9

You could not possibly have cast a better person to play Mark Zuckerberg than Jessie Eisenberg. Eisenberg was simply sensational. The story of how Facebook was created is the basis of this movie. And if you do not know the story, please watch this movie and learn it. The story of a sophomore at Harvard…

  • HACKSAW RIDGE: 8.5

    HACKSAW RIDGE: 8.5

My bread and butter. BASED ON TRUE STORY. My fav. And this story FUCKING ROCKS. Holy shit. Andrew Garfield crushes this role. Based on the true story of World War 2 hero Desmond T. Doss, who save SEVENTY FIVE men single handedly in Okinawa Japan. That would be insane by itself. One guy saving 75…

  • KANDAHAR: 5.7

    KANDAHAR: 5.7

I think I finally have Gerard Butler figured out. He is not a good actor. He just is not. He as zero range as an actor. He is the same person in the same role with that same dumb voice in every movie. The thing is, somehow he gets put into like pretty solid scripts.…

An art robbery at a very rich mans home goes wrong. The security system detects a robbery is taking place. This is very expensive art and a very rich man. So rich that the house has an incredible system in place to lock the would be burglar in the house. The burglar (William Dafoe) is…

  • FARGO: 8.5

    FARGO: 8.5

Not a big older movie guy. Sorry. I know too much. Seen too much great CGI and advancement in picture quality etc. So going back past like the year 2005, really hard for me. But, this movie does not need quality picture visually. Because it is that DAMN great. If you have not seen Fargo…

Ummm. Dick Cheney. HUGE PIECE OF SHIT. HUGE. I am sure most of you have heard his name. Maybe even know something about him. He was the Vice President of the United States under George W. Bush. And I do not know if I mentioned this, but he was an absolute monster. A just awful…
