Alright alright alright… I was having this convo with two buddies about the list of actors out there who, stand alone, carry movies. Need no supporting cast. And as the convo went on we realized, there are very few. LIKE really low amount. McConaughey is very obviously one and criminally underrated when discussing the all time greats. With that being said, Lincoln Lawyer.
True story I didn’t watch this for so long because I thought it was about him being Abraham Lincolns lawyer LMAO. Spoiler. It is not. McConaughey just gets around in his Lincoln car driven by his driver/I dunno bodyguard Earl who is the man. McConaughey gets hired for a assault case. Specially requested. Ryan Phillipe supposedly beat up really bad a prostitute. McConaughey does not know why he was specially requested by this very rich and spoiled Phillipe but soon learns. This movie absolutely rocks and has a lot of turns and keeps you guessing. It has an all star cast too. Marisa Tomei, William H. Macy and a BUNCH of ‘Hey its that persons”.
This is a FREAKING GREAT FILM. McConaughey in his bag all movie, and this was I think his first role moving away from those dumb rom coms he was stuck in for so long. And crushes it. Great writing and great story. Absolute must watch. That is a review.
