Wow. I just got done rewatching this movie. I am trying to emotionally recover. I am literally staring at the screen just kinda stuck. Do not know where to begin.
I am not gonna lie, I am a movie cryer. I do not care if you judge me. I cried at least 10 times during this movie. This is one of the most emotional movies I have ever seen maybe even the most. And I had not remembered it being so emotional.
This is McConaughey at his best. An absolute all star cast. Matt Damon, Casey Affleck, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain and a bunch more. It is a movie about McConaughey heading to space with a crew in an attempt to save a diving planet, and find a new place for Earths people to live. But here is what you are really watching this movie for.
It is up there as one of the most thought provoking films ever. There are about 10 different situations throughout the film that are SUCH incredibly hard decisions to make with the fate of humanity at stake, and none of them have RIGHT answers and you will sit there and contemplate all of them. This movie is about saving the world and it is filled with INTENSE emotional scenes that will have you in tears if you are a cry baby like me. When it comes to movies god damn do I LOVE all the feels.
I am sure some science nerd will tell you there are a ton of unrealistic scenes and blah blah blah F that. This is an OUTSTANDING MASTERPIECE. No idea where it ranks with Nolans other films but it is right on par with the rest. You are fully engaged all movie, it is intense, the music in the dramatic scenes makes it the most intense and doesn’t miss, it is an emotional rollercoaster that leaves you stuck staring at the screen thinking of all the tough decisions you would have had to make in that situation. The visuals are absolutely stunning. If that is not an outstanding masterpiece, I do not know what is. That is a review.
