Yeah so I am going to just give a combined rating, because both movies are the same. I plan on doing the same for John Wick and for Taken etc. These are all the same movie just different characters. So no need to pick apart each one. Same script same drill.
It is a good franchise. I find Denzel to be believable as a badass who can fuck people up. Just as I do with old Liam Neeson. They make it believable. And its just an entertaining series. You can rinse and repeat. They are working on a third.
Denzel, retired former military badass, finds wrong being done, while he seeks to be doing the right thing at all times, and those worlds collide. Can make a million of these. And all 1 million will be really fucking entertaining. Enjoyment I gave it a 10. Its not thought provoking or feelings or visuals but its just fun. And that is what you want with a SOLID FILM. You get action and fun and its not cerebral but who cares you are just here to enjoy and be entertained. I have not even seen the third and its a 6.6. That’s how confident I am in this recipe they figured out.
