Again, Netflix must have my reading list on its mind, because another book I read they turned into a movie. Unlike “Leave the World Behind” this did not come close to the movie being the book.
The movie is pretty simple. Robert Redford is bored with his mundane life and he decides he needs an adventure. He decides that adventure is to walk the Appalachian Trail. Some 2,000 miles from Georgia to Maine. He can only convince one of his friends to join him, one he has not seen in a long time who is not in the best shape.
The movie is really a lot of dialogue and great scenery. Again, the book was great. But to be fair it is a hard book to get to become a movie. The movie I did not have the heart to say stunk, and I was biased because the book was so good. I also felt Robert Redford was no where near the man I pictured in the book, but that also is always the case. It is a wholesome film, with some funny parts but it barely eeks out a SOLID FILM. Barely. That is a review.
