THE IMITATION GAME: 8.5

Benedict Cumberbatch. Best name in movies? Absolutely. Almost gave an extra .1 for it. Look I’ve told you. The way to my heart in movies is a select handful of actors and TRUE STORIES. I especially love stories related to war.

This is NOTHING like your standard true story war movie on the front lines and mass bombings and death. No. This is the FASCINATING story of the man who cracked Germanys so called unbreakable communication code. It not only saved millions on millions of lives it changed modern day computing.

The story of Alan Turing is played masterfully by Cumberbatch. A man who is beyond smart but horrible with people (think a beautiful mind). Just out of this world math genius, brought in to crack this code. He is bullied and disliked by his peers for his awkward demeanor and his nerdy disposition doesn’t inspire much faith. The race against time is very real as faith is lost that he can crack this and the cost to fund this project is adding up, along with the bodies of the war. Who thought math genius movie who changes the result of WW2 and maybe wins the war for the good guy would be so good? Oh wait never mind that does sound fucking great. You I guarantee have never heard this story, no nothing about this man and what he did. It’s is done just wonderfully. This is a FUCKING EXCELLENT MOVIE, one you need to see if you have not. That is a review.
