EYE IN THE SKY: 7.9

For a movie that has absolutely ZERO visuals, and takes place in 3 rooms the whole movie, they sure got the absolute most out of it. It is an absolute gripping thriller from the jump. It is endlessly thought provoking. Wildly interesting. And the acting was very authentic. This military movie will leave you with some questions and a lot of thoughts. Hopefully. It did me. Here’s why.

This movie highlights the difficult decisions that military personal have to make, when it comes to striking and taking out enemies. 3 of England and the United States top 10 most wanted terrorists in East Africa are in the same home. A once in a million cache to take them out. They are getting ready for a major suicide bombing as they can see with their drone camera inside the home. Major deaths are sure to come. Major. Everything seems good to go as London, the United States and the person on inside working for USA on location in Kenya are all ready to bomb this house and kill these 3. Until, something happens that derails everything. Let’s explore.

A young Kenyan girl, no older than 12 sets up her bread stand right in front of the house. Now everyone on this call, lawyers, the marines who have to fire the bombs, secretary of states all know that if this bomb is dropped it is likely an innocent young girl will get blow to shreds, and that it could be leaked they knew about it. You can see the major dilemma with real life consequences. What to do?

It could also be leaked if they do not do this, that they knew of a suicide bombing in a a public place and DID NOT stop it. Or take out 3 of the top terrorists in Africa. When they could. It is the ultimate, going back to philosophy, do you save 1 person for the sake of 40. Another impossible decision.

You should feel some things and should leave you with a lot of post reflection. It is really interesting as their are a lot of players involved in such decisions ALL with different feelings. All human.

A border line EXCELLENT but ends very high VERY GREAT MOVIE. That is a review.
