Ok so another person I am a sucker for dammit, Mark Wahlberg. So you are combining things I like here! True stories and Marky Mark. Unfortunately it was just okay. Mark was his usual great self. The issue here was the story. It was interesting ENOUGH, to keep me entertained and engaged, but also not interesting enough where I was like DAMN THIS IS INSANE. Which you kinda want in your true story. Especially when the true story is about a group of Italians kidnapping the richest man in the worlds grandson at the time and him absolutely not giving a shit about it for most of it. Plus, it just felt short changed. Left out a bunch of stuff and the ending was very MEHHHH. Cool visuals of ROME and ITALY alert though. The acting was good, it was somewhat thought provoking and made you feel something (like you wanted the Grandpa to get eaten by a pack of rabid wolves by the end of movie). ALSO: if you do watch this movie, KEVIN SPACEY alert, but you almost have to watch it, to see for yourself. Unless Kevin Spacey has undergone the most insane and successful reconstructive surgery of all time, there is NO WAY that was Kevin Spacey. So if you cancelled him, like in Moon, you might get a pass because I need an explanation and only watching it you’ll understand what I am even talking about LOL. A true story that just was limited in it’s interesting-ness propped up by some Mark acting and some boost in the feeling category. The absolute definition of a low end SOLID MOVIE. It ended and I said “meh, ok then.” But maybe you disagree! Rotten Tomatoes did. So watch it and maybe you disagree. I am not the end all be all. Or am I?! TBD. And that is a review.
HOLY SHIT SIDE NOTE: PER MY KEVIN SPACEY MENTION, UPON FURTHER REVIEW, WATCH THE MOVIE THEN GOOGLE “KEVIN SPACEY IN ALL THE MONEY IN THE WORLD” This now makes it worth watch maybe even bumping it up in score a little bit. WILD. The side story alone is maybe a 9.5. Its that wild of a story. Combined score of like now a 7.5. I dunno but it’s a crazy side story about the movie, it being filmed and Kevin Spacey.
