Let me be clear. This movie: OUTSTANDING MASTERPIECE. Why do I feel like this is a documentary? Ben Affleck and Jeremey Renners acting in this movie is THAT good to me. A heist movie I guess is what you would call it. That explores the difficult world of growing up in a poor Boston neighborhood. Failed local hockey legend Ben Affleck is still living in his home neighborhood. Him and his boys hold up banks and Brinks trucks. They are criminals who come from a family and neighborhood of criminals. And they are really good ones. They get these jobs from a local mob boss who gets a cut when the job is done, for finding them the job. Things get weird when in the opening scene, Ben Affleck basically falls in love with the bank manager Rachel Hall (I don’t blame him). Jon Hamm is the lead FBI agent in charge of catching these guys. The cat and mouse between Hamm and Affleck is just incredible writing. Affleck seems to always be one step ahead, and its fucking awesome. Complex relationships, great heist scenes, well done story telling, and ending that gives you the feels. The ending is actually perfect. As I write this I actually am sitting in Charlestown Boston where this movie is based on and takes place. Which makes it even better. Drop whatever the hell you are doing and go watch this movie. Right now. That is a review.
