I think this is kind of an unknown Denzel movie. It is very much unlike the rest of his movies, where he is the alpha male hero badass, you know the drill.
It was a nice switch up for him. I would never watch this again, but it was a SOLID FILM.
Denzel plays a life long civil rights attorney who appears to be severely autistic. Wildly bright but lacks social skill dramatically. He worked underneath the greatest civil right attorney in LA until one day that attorney dies. He finds himself out of work. Until one of his mentors proteges hires him. It is though adjustment for Washingtons character as it is fancy law firm and he is far from.
The movie follows the fight the Denzels character goes through in defending a young black man who is convicted of murder. Trying to stay true to himself and his history in this changing world while fighting for what he believes in while being a man severely on the spectrum. Interesting and worth a watch. That is a review.
