Back to back Christopher Waltz and Tarantino why not. Again, no idea how many times I have said this, but THIS TIME DAMMIT, I mean it. This is easily a top 4 opening in movie history. It is immaculate. No grid.
Christopher Waltz plays the “jew hunter” in WW2, his task, find all Jews in occupied German territory, at the order of Hitler and kill them. And he is ruthless. Cool side note. Tarantino wanted DiCaprio for this role (go figure right) but the roll called for the actor to speak fluent German, French, English and Leo could not learn it. SOOOO, QT did an open audition to see if maybe he could find someone. And BOOM. Christopher Waltz. The rest is history.
Also happening in this movie is Brad Pitt leading a group of just BAD ASS “nazi hunters”, which obviously, rocks. They are a vigilante group, not backed by anyone, who are just regular guys from America looking for some “Nazi Scalps”. Obviously the two end up crossing paths. Everything in between is just awesome.
This is an high end EXCELLENT FREAKING FILM, almost outstanding masterpiece. Outstanding performance from Christopher Waltz. Guy is a talented SOB. It is one of the best movies of the post 2000’s era and maybe QT’s best. 8.8 is a perfect score. That is a review.
